Yoga vs Pilates
Pilates and Yoga are both challenging activities, but you might be asking yourself, “What’s the difference?” At The Club Cave Creek, we offer both class options. Here’s a quick explanation of each to give you a deeper look into what makes these two so different.
Yoga is a calming, mindful, and spiritual experience used to promote your physical and mental well-being. This includes physical postures, breathing techniques, and meditation.
Pilates is designed as a workout to strengthen and tone your body. Pilates is a workout for people with a more active lifestyle or those who want to start having one.
Which one is more Difficult?
The answer for this is broken down into your definition of ‘difficult.’ We fully encourage you to try both and see what your preference is. Some might think the long poses and stretches of Yoga are more complex, while others might feel like the intensity of Pilates makes it the more challenging class.
Is Yoga or Pilates better?
Our instructors for each class might have their own opinion on which they think is better, but again, it is all up to you. If you are looking for a class that will get your body moving, burn calories, and work up a good sweat, then Pilates is for you. If you still feel like burning calories but want more of a calming spiritual environment, try one of our daily Yoga classes.
